This is a small, independent blog - I don’t sell anything you tell me and I don’t run ads. Here’s exactly what gets measured when you visit, and how to turn any of it off.

What’s measured

By default I use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to see which pages and finds are popular - page views, and clicks on things like Amazon links, videos, category filters, and the email signup form. No advertising data is collected (I don’t run ads, so no ad-related tracking is ever turned on).

Separately, I use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session replays and click heatmaps so I can see how the site actually feels to use. Clarity is opt-in only - it never loads until you turn it on below, and it stays off by default for every visitor.

How to opt out

Session-recording analytics (Clarity) is off unless you explicitly turn it on - use the same toggle in the site footer or the one right here:

The Google Analytics pageview/click measurement above is on by default (typical for a personal blog like this one) - if you’d rather it not run at all, a browser tracking-protection extension or Google’s own Analytics opt-out add-on will block it.
